You Need a Vacation

You absolutely need a vacation and there are so many ways to have a great vacation without breaking the bank. Some of the best ways to figure out how to do that is to sit down with a professional travel planner and have them help you work out a great destination within a comfortable budget that will give you the best experience you can possibly imagine.

If you aren’t quite ready to sit down with your local agent and need a little inspiration have no fear, I am here to help. Hopefully these suggestions will help inspire you to look a few options that you might not have thought about. We are going to get you on the road/train/plane headed towards your relaxing vacation.

Step 1) Plane, train, or automobile?

Some people start with a destination in mind but this can really limit you in the long run if you are just looking for a unique and enjoyable vacation. Instead we are going to flip this upside down and start with how you are going to get away. Do you want to drive and how far would you be willing to drive? Driving means that you are going to have a car wherever you are going without having to rent one and have complete control over your travel. Unfortunately, driving means you could end up spending a lot of time on the road.

Flying is the next most obvious travel method. It greatly expands the scope of where you can go including international locations. You save time and energy but the biggest drawback is the expense of tickets, bags, getting a ride to the airport, and renting a car at the location.

Not everybody thinks about the possibility of taking the train to your next get away. There really is no substitute to enjoying a train ride for a weekend escape. You can reserve any luxury car you want and have access to the dining car, etc… This is still more expensive than driving but you can travel a longer distance than by car.

Step 2) Think outside of the box

There are a lot of interesting opportunities for the creative traveler in sites like and craigslist. These sites can help you find amazing deals on vacation hotels, cabins, and travel opportunities.

Step 3) Pull the Trigger

Don’t hesitate! Once you find something fun to do that works really well in your budget, then you need to get your butt in gear and book your flight, hotel, campground, and rentals. You can always have another vacation if it doesn’t go as well as you hoped, but you will regret missing out on not doing something great.
