Bagan has over 2000 different Buddhist monuments lining the country side from the Ayeyarwady River to the luscious green plains. In Bagan there are 12th Century Temples, and it houses one of the most extraordinary museums you will ever see.
Lashio is one of the most popular places to visit in Myanmar, and for good reason. Its hot springs are known to be beautiful, relaxing and a place where you can eat, drink and socialise as well. In peak seasons though, it can get very busy and crowded, especially at night, but is certainly worth the visit. It’s only a 15 minute tuktuk ride from the centre of Lashio.
Thandwe is a small coastal town that is well rated for its snorkelling, marine life and great beaches. It is quite mountainous, and the river is excellent for kayaking if you are up for adventure. Shwe Nandaw Pagoda, is about a 10 minute drive from the town centre of Thandwe and boasts spectacular view of the valley below.
Chaungtha is a village and beach resort in Ayeyarwady Region. It is relatively affordable compared to nearby beaches like Ngwesaung and Ngapali, and well worth the visit if you’re after some relacation time.
