From kayaking in the Vang Vieng caves, to the mysterious Plain of Jars; shopping the night market at Luang Prabang, to meeting the locals who live and work on the beautiful Mekong River – there is so much to see and do in Laos and this 14 day tour will leave you delighted, with memories to last a lifetime.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Tham Jang - cave was used as a bunker in the early 19th century during the Chinese invasion. The view from the cave, surrounding landscape and tranquil pools make this a must see.
Tham Phu Kham - consider as the most sacred of the caves in Vang Vieng and contains a bronze reclining Buddha.
Tham Nam Cave - This cave cuts straight through the mountain, so one emerges on the other side of the range for some panoramic views of the Nam Kouang valley.
The National Museum - a French colonial building located in Vientiane, Laos highlighting the revolution of the 1970s.
Wat Xieng Thong - one of the most important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art.
Kuang Si Waterfall - a three tier waterfall about 29 kilometres south of Luang Prabang.
Phonesavanh - home of the Plain of Jars.
Wat Phia - Ravaged by wars that destroyed the entire temple, but left a giant Buddha statue fully intact,
Haw Pha Kaeo - Once a royal temple built specifically to house the famed Emerald Buddha
Wat Si Saket - a Buddhist wat in Vientiane, Laos which formerly held the Emerald Buddha.
Pha That Luang - a gold-covered large Buddhist stupa in the centre of Vientiane, Laos.
Xieng Khuan Buddha Park - a sculpture park located 25 km southeast from Vientiane, Laos in a meadow by the Mekong River.
