Begin your journey at the airport of New Orleans where you’ll pick up a car and take yourself into the city itself. With amazing historical sights and deep, delicious foods, this is the perfect place to start your trip. The second ay will take you to Baton Rouge, following the epic River Road alongside the Mississippi and exploring amazing locations, from epic plantations to natural wonders and growths along the river. Eventually, you’ll reach Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana where you’ll stay for the night. On the third day, you’ll move on to Lafayette, a picturesque town with unique architecture cathedrals and amazing Cajun culinary options. Next, move on to Saint Martinsville, a European village that is like a tiny recreation of Paris; then off to Avery Island, and on to Morgan City, the ‘capital of shrimp’. Make sure you taste some of the local produce!
On to Houma before making your return trip to New Orleans, stopping off at Thibodaux, to admire the contrasts between sugar cane fields and prairies; then through the wonderful swampland of Terrebonne before reaching the city again. Your final day is free in New Orleans to see and do as much as you can fit in to your schedule.
