Your 8 day journey begins in one of the most stunning cities in New England, Boston; where you can enjoy an abundance of activities and sights, from the Boston Common to the Freedom Trail. From Boston, take a driver through the Maine Coast, crossing the Charles River and visiting places like Harvard University in Cambridge and Kennebunkport, before moving on to Portsmouth. From Windham to Jackson, you’ll move through Cape Elizabeth to the Lighthouse; a major part of American independence.
From here your journey moves across the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, known as one of the finest parts of the trail; and you’ll get to take on part of The Trail itself, through the White Mountain National Forest. With a 100-mile route, this will ensure you get to see this part of America come to life. Rutland to Great Barrington is next on your journey, driving through rural landscape and cities to arrive at the heart of the National Forest – a whopping 400,000. From Great Barrington to Plymouth - where the ‘New World’ was first formed by 102 travelers back in 1620; and on to Cape Cod, a collection of 15 little towns and two major islands.
NB: This tour includes a possible extension to spend 2 nights in Bar Harbor mid-tour.
